This Red Wine Chocolate Castle Cake is an irresistibly moist chocolate cake spiced with the dark fruit notes of Malbec wine & coated with a lightly sweetened cream cheese frosting, then covered with a sprinkle embellished white chocolate bark for a fun, yet regal appearance.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday & managed to create loads and loads of memories with your loved ones. Do tell if any of them were hilarious, juicy, or embarrassing because I’m all ears when a chuckle or two is involved.
Well ladies and gentlemen, the first snowstorm has officially hit the Boston area and it’s a doozy. We easily have close to 3 feet of snow and the storm is still unleashing it’s furry. This storm could not have been more perfectly timed as I was just having a conversation with one of my fellow classmates about the winter this year in Boston. He was all bummed out that Boston hadn’t really had much in terms of snow (he’s from New Hampshire where snow is in their blood). Do you think this is what he was longing for?
White flurry of death or not, I personally am not a big fan of this weather. As a matter of fact, I find myself daydreaming way too much about the sunny, mild 80 degree weather I once enjoyed in Nairobi. But that is currently a distant memory and life must go on as I swathe myself in my “no amount of cold will penetrate this” Canadian Goose down jacket and 50 pound snow boots.
In an attempt to wipe away those winter blues that are only currently being amplified by this blizzard of all blizzards, I decided that it was a life or death situation that I bake the cutest, most petite sprinkle cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. After all, you can’t help but smile when you look at an itty, bitty cake with sprinkles smiling back at you and I need a smile right about now to get me through this blizzard.
