The 2016 year in review for The Road to Honey is chock full of recipes for delicious desserts & even a few savory dishes such as Pesto & Ghormeh Sabzi.
This Seals & Croft tune is running through my head as I continue to nurture my love-hate relationship with marshmallows (You can read about that HERE , HERE, and even HERE). I know it might sound silly since these Homemade Strawberry Amaretto Marshmallows aren’t flavored with jasmine at all, but everything else about them reminds me of summer breezes and warm weather barbecues where marshmallow -y s’mores are the much anticipated grand finale.
It’s easy to get stuck in our daily routines. . .seeing the same sights every day, breathing in the same smells, hearing the same monotonous sounds. It’s also easy to forget just how diverse the landscape can be, even within the U.S. Perhaps this is why I have a special place in my heart for Yellowstone National Park. With it’s super volcano, hydrothermal systems, petrified forests, & glacier. . it couldn’t be any more different than the sights & sounds I experience every day in the city. As a matter of fact, there are certain places within Yellowstone that feel so other worldly you may even find yourself questioning whether or not you have been unknowingly transported off to a galaxy far, far away. I know, I know. A day late and a dollar short. But I just returned from Morocco and it seems that jet lag has put a big honking speed bump into my daily life. And what gives with Easter being so early this year, anyway?
Regardless, Easter wouldn’t be Easter without some pip, pip-etty pip Peeps. And these Peeps are too cute not to share. . .even if they are a day late. Besides, just because I fashioned these homemade boozy marshmallows into the cutest little bunnies and chicks doesn’t mean you can’t pipe these little yummies into flower, frog or other spring-inspired molds. Heck! These would even taste superb cut into squares and used to kick your adult Smores up a notch.
