Well Happy New Year. I hope you have amazing plans to say “Hello There” to the new year. I personally will be spending an intimate evening at home (very different from the dog sledding lessons I used to ring in last year) sipping bubbly champagne and contemplating the exciting adventures I have planned for this coming year.

My default cocktail seems to always be a top shelf margarita on the rocks but with the holidays rapidly approaching, I thought I would mix-it-up a bit and take a seasonal cocktail for a test drive.
I found this recipe for a Candy Cane Martini. It’s made with creme de cacao, berry flavored vodka, and peppermint schnapps. . .many of the flavors I associate with the winter holidays. It also has a dash of half & half so if you are trying to watch your waistline you may want to skip over this ingredient. Or. . .you could consider it part of your daily allowance of dairy (wink! wink!).
